TRADER MARQUEES
To ensure the safety of every user of the Foodie Friday event area, the following guidelines must be adhered to when bringing your own marquee.
Because of the high winds that can occur on Market Place, the marquee should be at least to the following specification;
The marquee must be suitable for use on hard standing and be secured with weights of at least 26kg per pair (a minimum of one pair per leg of marquee)
The marquee cannot be the type built to be pegged down onto grass
The marquee should have lockable legs, with double hole sliding brackets to adjust canopy tension
The marquee must comply with the relevant British Standards for Fire Retardant Materials specification (BS5438/BS7837)
The person who is erecting the marquee must have completed a simple written risk assessment that considers not just the trader’s team when erecting, but also the risks at the end of the event when the event space is full of people.
The area that the marquee covers when erected must be confirmed with the organisers when a pitch is offered, so that the final layout is correct.
PITCH ALLOCATION
Where possible we will email out the pitch allocations for three months at a time in order to retain the option of allocating pitches to the broadest and most attractive food offer.
If you do not receive email notification that you have been allocated a pitch at Foodie Friday, then you are not on the list of traders for that month. If in doubt, please check with the event organisers by contacting info@skfoodiefriday.co.uk
Event location is dependent on staffing, weather etc. The Foodie Friday team will have sole responsibility for the layout of the stalls. Traders may not overrule their decisions. Layouts will be emailed by the day before the event.
The event will run from 6 pm- 9pm in Stockport Market Place. You must be ready to trade by 6pm and bring sufficient food to continue to sell until 9pm.
HEALTH & SAFETY
All traders MUST bring protective floor covering, which must cover the entire space under the cooking and serving areas. Stall holders without floor protection will not be able to set up their stall. This covering must be removed by the trader at the end of the event and disposed of.
Traders must keep their pitch clean and tidy during service and collect all refuse and leftover food at the end of the event. Traders must supply their own bags and remove all their waste from the event space and not place it in council skips or bins.
All oils will be disposed of in accordance with the relevant regulations (refer to your Safer Food Better Business HACCP section and https://www.food.gov.uk/business-industry/guidancenotes/hygguid/wastecookingoil. Oil must not be disposed of at the event site; it must be decanted into suitable containers and removed by the trader.
All disposables must be biodegradable.
Traders must leave their area clean and tidy, sweeping up and removing refuse. Swill down the area to remove any stains. Floor covering must also be removed after the event.
Traders must stop serving at 9pm and leave as quickly as possible. Market Place is a residential area so please bear this in mind.
The market team and traders will treat each other with courtesy and respect. A large part of the success of this event is the supportive and flexible role that the market team play in setting up and clearing down. We appreciate that they may not always be able to act on a request immediately but trust that it will be done as soon as possible, if it is possible.
PENALTIES
Traders who do not show up for an allocated event night without giving notice, will automatically be removed from the list of dates until the end of the year.
Traders who have paid in advance for a number of bookings in order to guarantee their space, will not receive a refund if they do not attend an event for which they have paid.
CANCELLATION
There is the possibility that Foodie Friday may be cancelled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. dangerous weather conditions, health and safety etc
In the event of a cancellation for any reason, the event organisers cannot be held responsible for loss of income, trade or food loss or wastage.
